As a joint Christmas present, daughter Eva and her husband bought Emma and me a Wii. I have been in no hurry to get the thing set up for several reasons. First, Emma had been busy planning a new kitchen (to be fitted next month). Second, we were having a couple of changes to the central-heating system, the work being postponed twice by the contractor because of emergencies due to the recent arctic conditions. Third, but by no means least, I am totally lacking in hand-eye coordination and have always avoided all forms of bat-and-ball activities. Now, it seems, I must demonstrate that I am as incompetent in the virtual world as I am in the real world. I see that there is also a boxing simulation. I can tell you this for nothing - I’ll be taking a dive as soon as the first punch is thrown. Skiing, surfing, snow-boarding? Get real! I might have a bash at ten-pin bowling, And I’m sure there’ll be a darts simulation.
