One-on-one
Given the inadequacy of my equipment (no pun intended, but you may take it as a Freudian slip) one-on-one shots are a bit of a problem for me. I have an elaborate gizmo that screws into the base of the camera, and a remote shutter-release of sorts - one of those thin rubber tubes with a bulb at the end to squeeze like an old-fashioned motor-horn. It’s a right pain in the ass to set up and use. Even if we avoid getting the cable wrapped around an arm, leg or neck, it invariably gets into shot and has to be painted out later. Consequently I seldom take pictures of Emma and me in action and occasionally use images from the archive - like this one taken twelve months ago. I have plans to take some more later this month, if the sun can be persuaded to flood the bedroom with light - which will make a change from flash. I do envy MCB’s ever-ready equipment (there I go again with the double entendre!)
