One-on-one,
Wedded bliss
Earlier this week, Alex and Suze referred to a newspaper report that couples had been asked, as part of a research project, to try to have sex every day for a month. [The picture alone makes it worth while following this link, although most of you will have already been there.] It was suggested that the average British couple makes love twice a week. Ahem! As one would expect, Alex and Suze are not your average couple. Nor, it would seem, are the Ancient of Days - alias Alfie and Emma. In January 2007 I started putting a little red dot on the calendar each time we had sex, trying for twice a day but not insisting upon it. After a couple of weeks, Emma noticed the marks and asked what they meant. When I told her, she did her level best to keep me on track, and even insisted we made up for the times I had missed my daily target. 2007 was a good year, although we didn’t quite reach the magic total of 730. We’re back to five or six times a week now, but who’s counting?
