As I may have mentioned umpteen times before, I have always harboured fantasies about Emma having sex with other men - although I hasten to add that I’ve always been happy for them to remain fantasies. And despite being aggressively monogamous, Emma has always been flattered to be fancied by other men, provided they knew their place. One or two have made tentative efforts to get into her knickers. “How about you and me going for a meal? You can say you’re going out with the girls.” Emma’s reply, she tells me, was always, “I’ll ask Alfie,” which seemed to put them off. When I suggested to Emma that these poor guys probably enjoyed a wank while thinking of her, she was disbelieving. She was just about prepared to believe that I had done it when we were courting - after all, she’d done something similar to herself. But she couldn’t bring herself to believe that she might have that effect on other men. Our thanks go to this Danish gentleman for proving her wrong.
