…. and mellow fruitfulness. Today is the Autumn equinox. It seems like only yesterday that I published a post pointing out that it was the Spring equinox and looking forward to the Summer that never was. One thing for sure, we can be more confident that Winter is on its way. And, to be honest, I probably prefer the Winter, which is at least more predictable. Besides which, it better suits my predominantly gloomy disposition and tendency towards indolence. As if to emphasise the approaching Winter, Emma has already asked me what I want for my birthday - which is not until early December! She likes to be prepared. So what do you get for the man who already has everything he really wants? I have opted for a dirty weekend in a sumptuous hotel in Chester - now booked. There are some excellent offers after the tourists have all gone home - three nights for the price of two, with Emma thrown in for free (if your name is Alfie).
