September, and the central-heating has been on already a couple of times in the evening. Whatever happened to global warming? It’s little wonder most people in the UK can’t take the subject seriously. Remember those documentaries which promised us a Mediterranean climate - hot dry Summers and warm wet Winters - with vineyards covering the Welsh hillsides and everyone wining and dining al fresco? Holiday at home, the Met Office said at the beginning of the year - it’s going to be a barbecue summer! Perhaps they meant a Summer for roasting chestnuts in front of the fire. And ye gods, they can’t even get the short-range forecast right. How many times do they promise a couple of days of brilliant sunshine, only to dash our hopes later with a flood-warning. There’s one consolation to be had: it’s far easier to persuade Emma to get her tits out indoors than it is outside. And one thing leads to another of course. She deserved a good seeing-to after this display. And that’s exactly what she got.
