I’m always singing the praises of hotel sex, and usually manage to take a few photographs to remind me of the good time Emma gave me. Last week, we stayed overnight at the Royal Hotel, Llangollen, and fucked with our usual unathletic enthusiasm. But no pretty pictures, apart from one I’ll post tomorrow. We had gone to Llangollen to meet daughter Eva (recently separated from her husband) and to treat her to dinner - an opportunity to discuss her plans for the future. After the meal, having seen Eva onto her bus, Emma and I decided on the spur of the moment to book into the Royal for the night. Centrally located at the bridge crossing the River Dee (famous for its white waters) the hotel is comfortable but not luxurious. Lord Byron and Queen Victoria once stayed there (not together). It was reported in the local newspaper of the day that “the crowds applauded as the Queen pissed over the bridge”. In an earlier age, the linotype operator would have lost his head for that typographical error. A deliberate mistake do you think?
