125,000 and still counting (slowly)

It may be small change to many of you, but I have just noticed that Emma and I notched up 125,000 hits some time last week. It’s not even a remote possibility that we will reach even a quarter of a million before we say goodbye for ever, but thanks anyway to those who call by. And a special thanks to the few regular who say hello. You know who you are. I never thought the numbers would matter, but it’s so easy to get seduced. One can never have too many friends, even if many of them exist only in the virtual reality which is the blogosphere. In one sense, these are the friends that really matter. After all, they are the ones to whom we can confess anything and almost everything. I can’t imagine saying to C&F for example, “We shagged each other senseless last night,” or “Emma took it up the arse while we were away.” That’s what cyber-friends are for.
