Wedded bliss
This is the last of the photographs to be posted from our December break - at least for the time being. We are returning to the same hotel next week for a few days, when I am sure to get some fresh ones to illustrate the Blog. As we were checking out last time, the receptionist made us an offer we simply couldn’t refuse - a rock bottom price for the same room in February, provided we ate in the hotel restaurant. Well, it’s Emma’s birthday in February, and where else would we go to eat at this time of the year, given that the food at the Wild Pheasant is superb. When I asked if we could upgrade to a suite, we were offered it at the same price. That is another of the many advantages of retirement. We can choose when we take our mid-week breaks and can therefore take advantages of some excellent offers. I look forward to screwing Emma into another hotel-room mattress. Watch this space.
