I don’t recall seeing so many gorgeous young women in one place as we saw in our Chester hotel last weekend. The hotel hosted two large all-girl parties on consecutive nights. I’m pretty sure they were office-parties rather than hen-nights, as the behaviour was sedately noisy rather than raucous and vulgar. Perhaps they don’t do raucous in the regal county of Cheshire. The nearest we got to a disturbance all night was a group of lovely-young-things enjoying a gargantuan game of chess in the enclosed Italian garden outside our bedroom window. Now that’s what I call class! Emma is always envious of the fabulous and sexy party-dresses young women get to wear nowadays. Nothing of the kind was available when she was young(er) and she refuses to venture forth “looking like mutton dressed as lamb”. To my eyes, of course, she will always look young and gorgeous, but woman can be so catty.
