The guy on the left, resolutely turning his back on the monitor, is St Isidore of Seville, the patron saint of computer users. It is his privilege and calling to protect my computer from bugs, viruses, and malware - with a little help from Father McAfee, who does the spadework. Together they have saved my computer from major infestation and disaster. [Alas, they have not managed to prevent the regular appearance of a warning that “Windows Explorer has stopped working,” but I suppose even a saint can have an off day or an occasional lapse of concentration.] I won’t bore you by reciting the official prayer to St Isidore, which you may Google at your peril, but you may take it as read that the saint would not approve of many of my computer-related activities. He would be likely to issue the usual priestly warning that watching too much soft porn is bad for the eyesight. Mind you, he is the one wearing glasses.
