[June, 2009 - Name-calling] It’s on the tip of my tongue, but I’m sometimes reluctant to say it. Bitch, slut, whore! So yesterday I Googled “talking dirty” for advice. I was surprised at how tame most of the examples of dirty talk were, compared with some of the expression which even the mild-mannered Emma comes out with. But, on one open forum more relevant to my search, a guy was seeking advice because his girl-friend, whom he loved and respected, had asked him to call her a whore when they made love. Most replies advised him to oblige, if it turned her on. It would not imply that he thought any less of her. Instinctively, that’s my feeling, too. Many of the wives who feature of Yuvutu are described as sluts, etc., which is probably with their knowledge and agreement. And one of my favourite Bloggers describes herself as her partner’s “cocksuckwhore”. But I was surprised at how many pages elsewhere gave dire warnings against any form of name-calling, as if it were the final, universal taboo. Surely, the only thing that matters is that the partner gives her consent.
