Here in the UK, we’ve had some blood-freezing, genital-shrinking weather already, and Winter has hardly begun. The Met Office warn us that there’s more of the same to come. Don’t you sometimes wish you could go into hibernation with a hot woman? Except that, strictly speaking, hibernate means to pass the winter in a dormant condition, so perhaps I should have said more simply “Don’t you wish you could spend the winter in bed with a hot woman?” I raise the question because today is the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year, and therefore the longest night. I know that from this point on the days are supposed to get longer, but I don’t really believe it. No matter how many diagrams you show me of Earth’s orbit around the sun and the tilt of Earth’s axis, I won’t notice my days getting longer until the middle of March at the earliest. Till then, I’ll spend as much time as I can in bed with a hot woman.
