Screwed, by Jupiter!

It’s the first of June already. I trust you all enjoyed (or will enjoy) your first shag of the month. And I hope you remembered to say “Rabbits!” just to be on the safe side (although some people claim you only need to say it if there’s an R in the month). I love June. It’s the first month we can almost guarantee a few days of decent weather. There is some dispute concerning the derivation of the month’s name (he said, entering teacher-mode). One faction insists it simply comes from the Roman “surname” Junius. Boring! Equally boring is the theory that it comes from the Latin iuniores (younger ones) as apposed to maiores (elder ones) from which the previous month gets its name. I prefer to think the month is named after the Roman goddess Juno - if only because it gives me the excuse to publish this modern take on Carracci’s famous painting of Jupiter and Juno. Can’t you just imagine old Jupiter saying, “Come here, my love. The warmer weather’s here, and you’re about to get laid.”
