This is one of what should have been many such views of the beautiful county of Kerry. But my brother is a typical car-driving tourist. There is a circular route around County Kerry with car-parks at many vantage points affording panoramic views of the mountains and coast. We completed the Ring of Kerry, stopping only once, and then had four hours to kill before our evening meal! I’m not claiming that I was any different when I was a car-driver, but now I know how Emma must have felt as my passenger when we were holidaying. One way in which my brother and I do differ as drivers, however, is that I will, when lost, ask for directions. On our arrival in Dublin we spent half an hour driving up and down the same road following a route provided by Google (presumably based on a city with the same name in a parallel universe). Eventually, my brother allowed me to ask a passing stranger, who directed us easily to our destination. In the same way, we almost missed the ferry back to Blighty. Does this ring a bell with any of you long-suffering wives?
