I’ve just noticed what day it is tomorrow. And I don’t mean it will be Wednesday all day. Autumnal fucking Equinox? Would someone kindly tell me where this year has gone? Surely it was only a couple of weeks ago that, sheltering from the winds and the rain, housebound for fear of floods, we were “celebrating” Midsummer’s Day! And here we are crashing into the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness, with only ninety-five fucking days to Christmas. (In this case, I use the f-word with its true meaning.) Sorry about that outburst, but I genuinely fear the coming of the season of deep depressions, climatic and emotional. To be prepared, Emma has already been on the internet ordering a few full-spectrum “daylight” bulbs in the hope of keeping me bright-eyed and bushy tailed. Let’s hope they work. Anyway, I feel a whole lot better for getting that gripe off my chest, and have subsequently spent a happy hour finding and combining a couple of images to mark the onset of autumn.
