It was George Bernard Shaw who said “Marriage is popular because it combines the maximum of temptation with the maximum of opportunity.” I can’t argue with him there, and I wouldn’t swap my status for that of the footloose and fancy-free single guy, who never quite knows where his next fuck is coming from. I seem to have missed that stage, incidentally. In fact, once Emma and I met and fell aitch-over-aitch, I never really considered myself to be single. I was a husband in waiting. I do miss the delights and the frustrations of courtship, however - getting my fair share of tit and finger-pie, and wondering if the virginal Emma was ever going to say yes to anything more. Although I look forward to enjoying Emma naked in our bed every night, I look back with nostalgia to all that passionate groping when we were both fully dressed and keeping an eye on the time. Yes, of course, we occasionally play the courting-couple game. But somehow it’s not the same.
