Early in our married life, Emma and I instituted a personal tradition, which we managed to maintain - with one or two lapses due to invitations we couldn‘t refuse - until two years ago. We would start to fuck just before midnight on 31st December, and make sure we were still fucking on 1st January - a feat which is not too difficult, of course. A couple of minutes will do - manageable even when you‘ve over-indulged. When our former next-door neighbours C&F moved up to the house on the hill, however, we inaugurated a new tradition - a celebratory meal in what was once the village dungeon. We take our places under the very grating through which local people of a charitable disposition would drop morsels of food for the unfortunate prisoners below. The service has improved considerably since then, and the grating is there only for show. By the time you read this, Emma and I will have started the year as we mean to continue - enjoying each other’s company and the occasional company of others, eating and drinking heartily, and who knows, maybe even enjoying a decent fuck. And we have had better years. One the plus side, as always, Emma and I had sex far more often than not. We enjoyed a number of mid-week breaks spread evenly throughout the year, with hotel sex high on our agenda. And we had a new kitchen fitted - long overdue. On the negative side, in no particular order, we lost two good friends to the Big C. In early Spring, I tore my Achilles tendon and was unable to walk without pain for three months - so no leisurely strolls in the country, and no opportunity for Emma to get her tits out in the great outdoors. Emma then injured her ankle - so no leisurely strolls et cetera. On the whole, Spring was uneventful, Summer was a washout and Winter came early. We seemed to have missed out Autumn altogether. We had a couple of visitors who more or less invited themselves and then outstayed their welcome. Daughter Eva left her husband and started divorce proceedings. She was obliged to stay with us for a couple of months, which severely cramped our style in the evenings. On balance - but only on account of the sex - the ayes have it. See you in 2011.posted by sooyup
